A fine fresh purple. The pinot perfume is adorable, in a fully but correctly ripe style. With time, a little more muscle is suggested behind. The sort of weight that the world would expect from Chambertin, though the wood tannins are a touch dry on the finish. Not the ethereal absolutes of the very finest at this stage, but the fruit sweetness develops in the glass to overrule the initially drier elements. A very fine Chambertin with the potential to grow in majesty with more time.
